Ground Breaking

Pine River, MN (September 29, 2006) - The Good Samaritan Communities is proud to announce the groundbreaking of their new 16 private bed memory care home in Pine River. This new home will specifically provide homelike care and programming geared to the needs of persons living with dementia and Alzheimer’s related diagnosis.

Whispering Pines Administrator, Brian Larsen recently applied for, and was awarded, a $250,000 Minnesota Community Service grant for the project. In addition , Good Samaritan Development Funds were also awarded to the project.

“This memory care facility will bring our area a needed service that now requires travel to Brainerd or further.” Administrator Brain Larsen said. “ We are so happy to be able to offer a greater continuum of care for our area seniors.”

The public is invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony at 2 p.m. on the lawn of the Riverside Village Good Samaritan Center, 2189 White Pine Point Road S.W., Pine River.
A reception will follow at the Riverside Village Senior Apartments were refreshments will be served.

The anticipated completion of this project is Spring of 2007.
